Gold has had its best start of the year, as investors have purchased the precious metal at the highest rates in seven years, and with prices up more than 20% year to date. On Friday, March 4^th, gold traded at $1271.67 a troy ounce, the highest price since February of 2015 making gold news.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch reported that in the past four weeks around $7.9 billion has flowed into gold funds. Jens Pedersen, an analyst at Copenhagen’s Danske Bank A/S, told Bloomberg that “the rally has mainly been on the repricing and changing expectations regarding central bank policy.”
